Fantastic Friday (#17)

It’s Friday! I hope everyone had a nice week!

This Friday I’m going to share the Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins mystery series by D. E. Ireland!

This series is so much fun to read! I love how the characters feel true to the musical and play, but the authors take their own liberties to make it fun and fresh. My favorite characterization is of Freddy Eynsford-Hill! He is absolutely ridiculous and at the same time is as adorable as a puppy. It’s such a fun contrast for straight-forward and practical Eliza. Eliza and Higgin’s friendship really shines and I think their team work on solving the cases really rings true to their personalities. I love how the authors draw on the historical setting for plot and atmosphere instead of solely relying on the characters for shenanigans. I hope there are plenty more books to come because this is one of my favorite mystery series!

Watcha Reading Wednesday (#5)

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This week I am reading Move Your Blooming Corpse by D. E. Ireland. It’s the second book in their Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins mystery series!

I was so excited to learn that there would be more after reading Wouldn’t It Be Deadly last year! The authors do a wonderful job at blending these already established characters with the realm of mystery and there may be one or two musical puns as well! I absolutely adore Freddy Eynsford Hill! I hope that there will be more books to come!

Last Wednesday I was reading Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. Check out my review here.

What are you guys reading? Let me know in the comments!
