Fantastic Friday (#37)

Happy Friday! I hope you all enjoyed your week!

This Friday I’m sharing the Helen of Troy duology by Esther Friesner!

What I love about this duology is that it gives us a new image of Helen of Troy other than that she was the face that launched a thousand ships. These books give her hopes, dreams, and a personality as well as bringing in elements of other well-known Greek myths. The Helen of these books is a young teenager who craves adventure and is resistant to others telling her how she should think and behave. If you’re looking for narratives about this famous lady that don’t involve the Trojan War or Paris then these will hit the spot just right!
